Stayed here Halloween Weekend; cold, windy and raining but we had the river behind us. We did try steelhead fishing but the weather made it impossible. We would stay here again. Site had picnic table and fire ring. No one on either side of us so that was nice, roomy and the place was quiet. Mostly just fisherman so no kids around that I saw. Not much for them to do here. The road into the place is a bit rough and over all the place could be updated but was OK. We only used the electric, brought our own water and used dump station, which was nicely set up for use.
This was our 1st stay at this park. Very clean and nice, would stay here again. We had site 113 and had the lake behind us. We watched the fish jumping and splashing. It offered the usual picnic table and fire pit. My only complaint is people. two sites down there were 4 adults. I don't know why but they decided to start playing their instruments and singing most of the night. I know shame on me for not saying anything but you never know who or what yo are dealing with.
The park itself is very nice, clean and appealing. They have somethings to do, like a movie one nite, which was nice. The only thing is the other campers. I chose not to stay in the pet area, but people walk their dogs everywhere, some don't clean up after them and let them bark. I just don't get it. The area itself is great for hiking and canoeing, which we love to do. Would stay here again.
This was our first visit here. Very nice place, quiet and clean. it was pretty full but you would never know it. We had a sight facing the lake and the fall foliage just starting. We hiked some areas and were by ourselves. Very peaceful and close to home for us. Also the ranger drove around a lot during the day and we spotted him at night while we were sitting by the fire. They offer like new picnic tables and fire rings.
I had seen some really good comments on this place. We stayed here at the last minute and got site 55 which is surrounded by other camp sites but once you got set up and stuff it wasn't crowded. This place is quiet at night, clean and will stay here again. For the money you get water, electric and sewer! There is a guy from town who drives around at night selling firewood so you don't even have to leave the area!
We stayed here Mem wkend for 4 nites. Our site had no grass and plenty of dust. The water was very sulfer smelling and brown which left our sink, toilet etc brown. Plus our site we inches away from the dirt road, causing more dust. and our picnic table next to the septic of the site next to us. $30.00 a nite I expected a bit better outfit.
The good thing about this place was we were backed up to Elk Creek and could watch fisherman fishing for steelhead. Then this place goes downhill and fast. The bathrooms both men and woman were not cleaned, smelled and the you had to turn on the lights after you walked in and locked the door. The "street lighting" was on all night and was right behind us. We were spaced on top of each other, too close to put up the awning, no picnic table, no fire ring. Would not recommend this place nor stay here again. Too expensive for what is offered. Clean it up, bring the price down and maybe.
This has to be the quietest place ever. We will stay here again and they offer sledding in the winter so we just may be here soon. The staff very friendly, place clean and did i mention quiet? Lots of wildlife too.
The guy who checked us in was very friendly and he even drove firewood to our site. We camped off season, very empty, peaceful and enjoyable. There was one or two seasonals but we were far enough away from them that it seemed we were alone. Yes we would come here often, though maybe not in season as it looks like it could be very full. In the snow season they offer sledding. It may be fun to camp here then too.
We stayed here twice. The first time we did not use their showers, if I had I would have known they charge for this. For what you pay per night they should offer free showers. Also we stayed here Columbus Day Wkend 2006. It was really cold and during the night our electricity went out, not in our camper but on the pole. We couldn't get it to work so we left in the middle of the night. Was too cold to stay. Never will stay here again.
We were looking for something close. Very nice and the check in guy was friendly. No store per say so if you need anything you are out of luck. The stream and swimming area was not something I would consider usable. Never been to an RV Park before, reminds you of a trailer park so if you like that kind of thing you are all set. I prefer a campground atmosphere. Would I stay here again, probably in the winter as its close and nice getaway.
This is the worst KOA we have stayed at, ever. We have been camping over 30 yrs and I have never been so upset about a place. This is geographically half way between us and our grandchildren. We get them for a week in the summer. So we stayed here last year, there were flies galore, and we were told this was not the norm. So we reserved again this year, one month in advance. I wanted full hook ups. We get there and they did not have our reservation, and put is in a field, next to a diesel pusher. OMG the smell from that (the black water) was unbearable. We left early. And again the flies. We had made reservations for the next weekend at the same time so we were all set for 2 wks. We get there and they put us in the same spot. I had requested a specific area and was told ok, no problem. The flies were back, and we ended up not staying. I will never go back to this area again and make sure I tell everyone what a lousy place this is.
We stayed here for a family gathering. Very nice and they let our daughter and her family stay in a tent on our site. Lots of activities for the kids and adult kids. Was kinda noisy at night but they do have seasonals and we were close to the playground. Some people do not obey the posted rules. Would stay here again.
This is a very nice CG. We got here when it was closed (gated) and someone let us in and set up. Very friendly. Again, looking for something close to home, in the middle of Winter. Clean bathrooms!! This is an adult park and since our children our grown, this is perfect for us as this was really quiet!
